FOLSOM POINT AWARDED INCENTIVE FUNDING
TO ASSIST SMALL BUSINESSES

(Boulder, CO) - Folsom Point, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in market research, analysis, and strategic planning, was recently awarded a contract through an incentive funding program that will leave a lasting positive legacy for Small and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises following the completion of the Transportation Expansion (T-REX) Project. Under the contract, Folsom Point will provide marketing consulting and training to small and disadvantaged businesses involved in the design and construction industry, including suppliers and service companies.
T-REX is already considered a leading-edge project in its use of public-private partnership and financing. Now, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the Regional Transportation District (RTD) have partnered with the Southeast Corridor Constructors (SECC) to provide funding for programs that help small and disadvantaged businesses improve their ability to compete and win on commercial and government projects.
"We are excited to offer this innovative incentive program to assist members of the small and disadvantaged business communities," said Joe Wingerter, public affairs liaison at SECC. "There is a high caliber of programs being offered that range from safety training and cost estimating to marketing and leadership. We envision that each of these programs will be of great benefit to the small and disadvantaged community."
"According to a survey of more than 100 small and disadvantaged businesses, the greatest need was for programs that provided assistance and training in marketing, business development and cost estimating," said Nicky Lee, CEO of Folsom Point. The Transportation Expansion (T-REX) Project is a citizen-endorsed project that includes highway expansion and improvements; the addition of light rail along I-25 and I-225; reconstruction of interchanges and bridges; a new drainage system and improved pedestrian and bicycle access. Funded without any new or increased taxes, the project will increase mobility, enhance accessibility and provide transportation options.
