FOLSOM POINT CHOSEN TO DEVELOP BUSINESS AND MARKETING STRATEGY FOR UCAR
Plan Aims to Increase Awareness and Usage of New Digital Image Library

(Boulder, CO) - Strategic consulting firm Folsom Point, Inc. has been chosen to develop a business and marketing plan for the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) Digital Image Library web site. Folsom Point will conduct competitive research and end-user analysis and establish positioning and messaging to help increase awareness and usage of the site by UCAR personnel, its affiliate organizations, academia, and commercial customers.
UCAR, a consortium of research institutions with doctoral programs in atmospheric and related sciences, pools its computing resources and observational data so that scientists and researchers can better understand the behavior of the atmosphere and environment. Through the pursuit of its research, UCAR has compiled a database of unique photo images that capture weather phenomena. This collection is available to the worldwide scientific and academic community UCAR supports, as well as to commercial entitles.

We believe that the Digital Image Library will serve as a tool that supports the understanding of UCAR's research around the world," said Lucy Warner, Director of Communications for UCAR.
