FOLSOM POINT NAMED 2007 MINORITY-OWNED BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

(Boulder, CO) - Nicky Lee, CEO of Folsom Point LLC, has received the 2007 WTS-Colorado (Women's Transportation Seminar-Colorado) Diversity Leadership Award. The award is presented to an individual or organization that has exhibited outstanding effort in developing opportunities for women and minorities and has contributed significantly to promote diversity and cultural awareness within their organization, the transportation industry or in a project or activity that supports the goals and mission of WTS.

"I am honored to be recognized by such a talented group of professionals," said Lee. "I get to follow in the footsteps of other Diversity Leadership Award recipients including Phil Washington of RTD and Judith Lamb of CDOT. Those are big shoes to fill."

A long-time WTS member, Nicky Lee is currently the CEO and Managing Partner of Folsom Point LLC, a marketing and management consulting firm located in Boulder, Colorado. She has championed several initiatives that support minority-owned businesses including serving on the Denver Office of Economic Development Division of Small Business Opportunity (DSBO) Task Force, as well as managing support services for the CDOT Mentor-Protégé Program and the Business Opportunity Workforce Development (BOWD) Program.

Additionally, Ms. Lee has trained more than 1,500 business owners on topics ranging from marketing and proposal development to government contracting and financial empowerment. Her company received the 2006 Service Firm of the Year award during last year's Colorado MED (Minority Enterprise Development) Week.

"Our day-to-day business is focused on helping small, women-owned and minority-owned businesses put their best foot forward," said Lee. "By working with firms in the transportation industry, they become more competitive and capable. It's about doing the best we can to level the playing field."
